from the beginning of this book you hit the ground running and just don't stop... i couldn't put it down... non stop action... i mean you never knew when something else was going to hit and it was coming from all sides... it did great in showing her develope relationships and getting to know the main character who was a strong independent woman that you couldn't help but care for... the love story angle was also great... it didn't overshadow the rest of the story but gave you that hope that she would find her love and be happy... and i can't help it i'm military and the whole structure of the society just rocked to me... of course it's one of those that sounds good on paper but would probably never really work but i found it intriguing and although i'm all for freedoms and being stuck in a uniform 24/7 is just wrong but i couldn't help but really like it... plus the Code of Behaviors made me laugh a little comparing it to the military Code of Conduct... it was truly a great book and all i want is to go out and grab the next one and find out what she gets into now...
I read the first three (or four?) books in this series a couple years ago, however my local library didn't have the rest, so I had to stop reading. After watching the movie version last year (which was AWESOME by the way) I decided to read the rest since the library FINALLY got them. This is probably my favourite graphic novel of all time. I don't know exactly why but it's epic. Knives and Wallace have got to be my favourite characters. Another epic thing is that it takes place in Toronto. I haven't read many books that take place in my city so I was beyond happy. I was all like "Hey!! I KNOW THAT LIBRARY! SORT OF!" Anyways, the main point is that Pilgrim kicks ass (literally). And Bryan Lee O'Malley is awesome. Go read it now!
