I learned about the flight of the russians fleeing their country during the height of Russian revolution. They had to travel by foot and cross snow covered mountains. There is no specific ideologies that Ayn Rand tried to push here. It was just plain storytelling as I think this was one of her early works. I think she was better that way.

Much of this story made me vaguely uncomfortable; I feel the grumpy, rather intolerant side of Lewis intruding in ways that rarely occurs in the best Narnia tales. Still, the image of the dwarves' ultimate fate is so damned apt-- almost as good as the climax of the Silver Chair-- that I teeter between three and four stars. Hmm. Don't care for Aslan's heaven much. Three.
