read this in 2001 for Black Diamond book club. I didn't like it very much, but the lady who picked it made us yummy refreshments. A couple of things I did like: the author seems to like to travel as I do: live in a small place and get to know it intimately, rather than see lots of things superficially. travel: "change me. change me into somtehing I am."
