Good stuff. All of the best of Tennessee is in here -- distraught women, rampant alcoholism, overt sexuality, the passage of youth and beauty, dominance, opposite cultural forces confronting each other, fantasy/reality/insanity, worries over money, past and hidden homosexuality themes, and a significant stress on the existence, importance, and hatred of lies: culminating with a doosey. I loved this play and the way Tennessee can accomplish so much with so little. Two of the most timeless characters in all of drama are found in Stanley and Blanche. I've started to wonder: I bet women HATE his plays...
