Suspenseful and surprising. I thought the details were excessive. I didn't care what the characters bought at the grocery store. I didn't go to IKEA's website to look at the specific furniture Salander chose. (I did wonder whether IKEA happened to sponsor the books, though!) And, for goodness sake, do Swedes drink anything besides coffee?? That said, I do love the characters, and I do care what happens to them (just not what junk food they eat). I can hardly wait to read the third book!

One of Sparks' better novels - not that I don't love them all - but this one hinges on being just a little bit different than his usual.
