A Short History of Nearly Everything is all that the title claims. It starts at the beginning of the Universe (big bang theory), through the Earth's geographic history (did you know that all of Yellowstone National Park lies in a gigantic crater created by an asteroid?), up to the evolution of Man. It is wonderfully written, very engaging, and if you are interested in these types of things. I am, and can heartily recommend this book!
