Good book---very well written and clarified some questions I had about some decisions he made. I would NEVER want to be in the President's shoes...you will never be able to make everyone happy and you have people from all over telling you what to do.....The end got a bit tedious but Bush did a decent job of laying out why he made decisions that he did. I don;t think he did a good job about explaining why he ran for political office. He keep mentioning that he was just a regular ol guy from West Texas but we all know he came from a family of wealth...i thought it was stupid for him to downplay that. You can still be wealthy and a nice person; my dad did business with #42 during the oil boom years and dad said he was a great man and very friendly. Now, the be balanced, I will also read an Obama book. FYI Bush didn't take any stabs at Obama...all he said was that he was pulling for McCain b/c that is his party and he had so much more experience. I enjoyed the stories about international relations with Russia, UK, China, South Korea, etc.
An absolute masterpiece! I checked out this book at the library and enjoyed it so much I am buying it. It is written by a therapist who shares about 40 years of her experience in helping her clients find peace and joy. Because this book it so well-written and contains so many inspirational and insightful thoughts, it is a book I will read over and over again.
