Lynn as a young African-American has always been mis-treated. He goes to an all white school with no friends or teachers that treats him in a proper way. At home his father abuses him because he think it will make him ''be a man''. As time goes on, Lynn's mother divorced his father and she had to start working 2-3 jobs to support the family.
