I picked up this book by accident while browsing through the shelves in a bookshop, and I thought, why not? And I was captivated. One of the most interesting thing about the book is how much Barrie put of himself and his life in his stories - and he wrote so many! I read the part about Peter Pan with especial interest; after all it's what he's really remembered for. All the undertones in the story make it intriguing, but sad. When I read Peter Pan for the first time I was left with a vague feeling of disquiet. I was sorry for Peter though I couldn't understand why; after reading this I'm even more convinced that the story is not really a happy story - it hides shadows of unfinished tales, missing threads and forgotten hopes and lost dreams, reflecting Barrie's own life.
