If I had been a young teen I probably would have given this book four stars. Young Kim goes back to her mother's home country of South Africa where Kim is curious about who her own father is. During her brief stay of a few months she comes face-to-face with the facts of her birth and what life was/is like in a country where apartied is just beginning to disappear.
