I bought my first copy of "Dune" in 1968. It took me eight years to read it. About once a year I would pick it up and start to read. I never made it past the first section. I just put it back on the shelf. Finally, in 1976, I was forced to read it for a book club that I had helped to organize. And I loved it. I have read it numerous times since then. I have also read all of the other books in the series. Even if you are not interested in the rest of the books in the series. this book is worth the effort. It is a must read.
