This is the first book by Ms. Ronald in the Evie Scelan series. I really liked the plot and Evie's character...she is very no nonsense and practical. The downside that I found was that there wasn't a lot of background to the characters so I kept thinking maybe I'd started on the 2nd or 3rd book. Some people may love this since you can invent the past or it allows the author to reveal their past a little at a time. The plot was a little slow going at first, but finally settled into a groove and I liked the ending. I'm reading the 2nd book now and it makes more sense after reading the first since you know who the characters are.
