I think this is the best written book I've read published by Avalon. The author does an excellent job with the language in this regency about poetry. Just savor this little tidbit: "The hard little knot of an idea, the very beginnings of a poem, resisted the plucking necessary to untangle it.". The prose is quite lovely. The story lives in the regency period, too. The regency details are like sugar crystals gently sprinkled throughout (some authors try to make a regency by hucking handfuls of details at you--it's very messy and hardly has a pleasant result). Really, my one complaint is that the story is so brief. Well, if I can't have more of this book I will certainly have more of the writer. She's now on my radar.
