I am so disappointed in Robbins. Rarely am I unable to finish a book, but in spite of his wry, comical way with words, I simply hated everything about this. Some lines made me chuckle, some parts made me wonder what the fuck is wrong with Americans and that perhaps we ought to start strategically bombing trailer parks from space, and then there's all the lesbian and pseudo-philosophical undertones (peppered with "cowgirl" interludes) that just turned my brain off. Also, I hated the protagonist. Irrationally. I feel like Robbins owes me an apology.
