I honestly had no desire to see the movie when it came out. I didn't even realize it was based on a book until I read Dash and Lily's Book of Dares and loved it. I just had to look up Cohn and Levithan so I could add to my TBR pile and saw they collaborated on this as well. Figured what the heck.... I usually like the books a lot more than the movie anyway! These two have a great chemistry together that translates perfectly in their books. The dual narrators work so well because Cohn and Levithan have such different styles, you feel that they are two people taking you on their journey. I loved the NY music underground setting and the dialog was funny. And what a journey it was spanning all of one night! Nick and Norah are great MC's. Nick and Norah's sarcasm and quick wit were endearing and they suited each other perfectly. They both feel stuck in this bad place, unable to move on because of their ex's and even though they admit to liking each other, fear or some other dibilitating emotion holds them back. It takes one crazy night and a few drag queen burlesque nuns to loosen them up......but It's only when they both choose to finally let go that the sparks fly. I'll never look at the ice room at the Marriott the same again! Dash and Lily are still my fav, but Nick and Norah aren't far behind.
