Maybe it deserves 3 stars. Not sure. Which pretty much sums up my experience reading this book. Fascinating story, I really admire the idea behind this book. A decision on one night alters 5 lives forever. What's interesting is how it negatively impacts one person in the beginning but she ends up benefiting the most, and how the people who it was supposed to benefit end up suffering the most. I had a hard time putting it down sometimes, you get sucked into the story. The writing and story is kind of tedious at times, and maybe some parts of this are too long. It is a sad story and I wanted reconcilation and happiness at the end of the story, and it's not like that. The ending is bittersweet; if you want a happy, feel good book, well, look elsewhere.
