The format of this book initially turned me off. I couldn’t seem to get the rhythm right, and I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be poetry or prose. However, once I got involved in LaVaughn and Jolly’s story, I didn’t even notice the format. Even though most of the scenes in the book were quite depressing, I ultimately came away feeling inspired.
