I enjoyed this book very much - partly due to the description of how the author and his guide dog emerged safely from one of the Towers on 9/11, but especially due to the insight he offered about the reality of being blind. Blind since birth, he was blessed with parents who resisted encouragement to put him in a school for the blind and mainstreamed him in every way. He benefited greatly from their trust and guidance and throughout his life, has made his mantra: "why not?" I learned quite a bit about the tools and support for the blind - highly recommend this book.
