Always sad to come to the end of a good trilogy...this was one of my favorite recent fantasy trilogies.

Loved it! Set during WW2/Japanese Internment in Seattle's International district (then Japantown). The hotel of the title (The Panama Hotel) is still there, and midway through reading the book I went and walked past it and the other locations in the story (and then had lunch at Shanghai Garden--yum!). The Japanese internment story may have been done again and again but this felt fresh due to the narrator perspective--a Chinese boy whose father hates the Japanese.
