This book was sometimes a bit odd to me. I liked how the characters ended up overcoming a lot both personally and together. However, the whole animal magic thing was a bit strange to me at some points. I mean, I liked it in general, but there were points where I was like...ooookkkk?..or.. ewww! Still, the book was good. I liked how the book was from the boy's view and how everything was for him so it put more mystery to the story of the girl and hound. Overall, a decent read that I would recommend.
