If you've read The Giver by Lois Lowry then you're familiar with the idea of this book. Having said that, the main character and the entire storyline is different. It's a YA instead of a kid's book for starters, it's a series, there is a romance (or two) and there seems to be a big picture theme here too, not unlike the Hunger Games. All in all a fun and fast read with some truly agonizing moments as well as enough romance to keep it moving. Looking forward to the next one!
