This book started out in fine gothic tradition, but the wrap up was too simple. Toward the end, I kept thinking, "how will they wrap this up in the remaining pages?" Well, the answer to that was--very quickly. Too pat and simplified at the end, with the impending doom that hung throughout the book never fully realized.
