This book was life-changing. A review from Houston Chronicle put it perfectly. "Atwood takes many trends which exist today and stretches them to their logical and chilling conclusions....An excellent novel about the directions our lives are taking....Read it while it's still allowed." I also quite enjoyed the ending, though I was so immersed that with the abrupt ending I was a little discombobulated for a few seconds but after thinking about it I found that the ending was quite satisfactory, I'm not usually one for cliff-hangers but I would rather think that she got away than it turn out that she got put on the Wall or something.
