This is probably the best most enjoyable book I've listened to this year. If you were born in the 70's and liked gaming in the 80's, this is a must read. I'd certainly recommend the audio version, as Wil Wheaton's enthusiasm for gaming comes through in the narration and adds the perfect touch. I happened to check Wil's blog the day the book came out and was glad I did. My library still had its one overdrive copy available (hooray for public libraries.) It was perfect timing. I didn't get to start listening to it for a few days. The night I did, I ended up staying up til 5 in the morning because I didn't want to stop listening. It's been awhile since I've had a book suck me in so quickly... Edit: I realized I can't rate this book as the best this year because I remembered I also listened to The Wise Man's Fear this year, I just didn't rate/review it because I've slacked so much this year...
