I think that this book is just unnecessary. The series should have been left the way it is in Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side. (That title is so long.) Anyway, first of all, after reading this, I realized what an idiot and how selfish Jessica is. Fortunately, she grew up a little as it came to an end. Second, I don't like Lucius as a mushy-mushy type of guy. He's better as a scary and serious guy. And third, I realized how much better Mindy and Ranerio's story is than Jess and Lucius's. If not for Ranerio, I would have given this 2 stars. I wish the author just spent her time writing a book for Mindy and Ranerio rather than adding another one for Jess and Lucius.
