I read this book for a class at Colby called Love and Imagination in Literature. I completely adored the class and everything we read. This, however, was the gem. The prose was amazing. I found myself rereading passages just to try to absorb the lush language. The story itself seems to be part fairy tale. The search for true love, the amazing power of the words, the total presence of the characters and settings was amazing. This is one of my all time favorite books. Thanks Prof. Boylan for putting it on our reading list!!
