Paul Farmer is obviously one of the visionaries of our time, and as a (hopefully) future public health worker, I really appreciated reading about his approach to medical care and combating poverty. Kidder's lovingly constructed portrait, however, lost my interest whenever he strayed from the topic and theory of health care.
