Trying to put into words my feelings about this book is difficult to articulate!! A biography but written in fiction. A story full of images and flowers. A charming story from the beginning of life to death. Carol Shields' use of language is like poetry. She has the uncanny ability to make the characters come alive. It is easy to feel as though you are apart of this novel. It's no wonder Shields has won awards for this book. Excellent!!
