A bevy of indelible images and immortal characters, whether they make it to the end or, more likely, not.

I had a hard time getting into this. It is one of those books/stories where it was difficult to really like ANY of the characters. But by the end I was really engaged in it and found myself thinking a lot about it. It is an interesting portrait of a family and how complex people can be!
