Urgunge Onon's perspective on Mongolian culture was that of a child which I found disappointingly superficial. He was sent off to boarding school to get a Western education. It seemed like he never experienced his culture of origin as an adult. What interested me most was learning that his academic patron was Owen Lattimore. I knew that Lattimore had been blacklisted during the McCarthy Era, but otherwise he was just a name to me. I would like to read more about Owen Lattimore in Mongolia.

Summer is over and it is time to go back to school for Arthur and his sister Violet. They are both very excited to see their friends again. They have fun on the bus ride, and Arthur learns the safety rules that need to be followed on the bus. I can say that I like the story that much.
