نویسنده بسیار خوب احساساتی را که باید به مخاتب منتقل می کرد منتقل کرده بود. اینکه در زمان گذشته نقاشا چگونه نقاشی می کردند وجه حس و حالی داشتند و یک عشق بسیار پاک ومعصومانه که در آخر به یک تصمیم منطقی ختم می شود و من به شخصه شخصیت اصلی داستان را بسیار دوست می داشتم دختری با تمام احساسات زیبا

Fabulous book! The best guide to birds in Europe.

I have learned that I am not going to like all of Mieville's books, and this one sounded too hard-science-fictiony. But when I learned that a character in it was sort of a linguist (in the sense that I used to be, someone that studies how language works, not who speaks a lot of languages) I was curious. I didn't exactly like this book. A lot of the language stuff seems kind of bogus, it is too long, and the main character seems oddly flat and emotionless even when describing her own emotions. But the very strange world is so vividly described that it really sticks in my memory.
