Like most Maeve Binchy books, this is enjoyable enough. Unfortunately, in this one, she telegraphs too much throughout to make the ending come out the way she wanted it. I'm not entirely sure that the characters, left to their own devices, would have necessarily followed the path she forced them down. Still, if you're looking for light family drama, this one works.
