I'm not a huge fan of bugs, but I love the illustrations in this book. The bugs are realistic, without being icky. They capture the beauty in insects well. The text has a predictable pattern that makes a nice rhythm. This is broken at the perfect place near the end. I had the pleasure of listening to Mike show this book to Natalie from the other room. It was so fun waiting for him to get to the chirping. He thought it was super cool.
