My review can also be found on my blog Collections. I thought Otherkin was an okay read. It took me about a month to read though. For me it was the type of book that I could easily put down and not feel the need to pick back up. The beginning of the novel basically went straight into the action. The problem I had with that was that there wasn't any sort of build up. It just happened. And there was zero time for me to get to know the main character Dez. Thankfully, by the end of the novel, I felt like I knew Dez well enough, and I liked her relationship with Caleb. The other characters eventually left an impression too, so I appreciated that. However, all the talk about otherkin and callers and shadow and stuff didn't hold my attention, which was too bad because all of it was important and a major part of the story. I don't think I will be continuing the series, but as I said, Otherkin was an okay read and I'm sure other readers will find it more entertaining than I did.
This author has totally clarified and verbalized so many lifelong questions for me. This little book about flyfishing shouts out about life's mysteries and questions.
