Richard Wright was buried with a copy of this book. That in itself says a lot to me. It is basically his autobiography of the first part of his life. Very painful, very real, very honest. Not an easy read, but I learned a lot about a perspective I can never have. Also learned a lot about the details of the communist party in the US during the 60's. Pretty interesting.
