Eder Gonzalez Gonzalez من عند Cajamarca, Puente Nacional, Santander, كولومبيا
Let me preface this review by saying, I have not seen the movie and came into this book with no expectations. The plot and characters are all enjoyable and interesting. Despite being set in the 70's, everything translates well. The prose is of the highest quality and it seems like the author always pulls out the perfect description or adjective. I imagine the point of contention with most readers is the ending. Hopefully I'm not spoiling anything by saying that it is somewhat unresolved and the author does not answer all the questions the reader has. I believe this is artfully done, because many of his opinions on the topic of suicide and criticisms of suburban life are made obvious as the plot progresses. I think if either of those two topics are of interest to you or you enjoy sarcastic and/or dark humor, then you should pick this one up, because you will enjoy it.
