This was one of the best books I've read in a long long time -- one of the best ever. I haven't cared so deeply about characters in a book for a long long time, nor have a felt so like crying at the end of a book. I can't recommend this enough. Incredible that this is her first book.

I didn't like the final book as much as the others because it has one big problem: The Harry POV. Because Harry Potter has to hide in this book, most of it doesn't take place in Hogwarts or even London. Harry has to hide and because of this most of the story is pretty boring. All the important stuff happens elsewhere. But the ending is great of course, when we finally get into the action again.

Fantastic story--great lead character. Heartbreaking and uplifting all at once. Unlikely friendship was really touching...
