This is a 3 1/2 stars kind of read. Definitely more emphasis on romance than mystery. You can't help but love (well, I can't, anyway) the restrained social rules of Regency England (a boy kissed a girl! Will she be ruined??). The Jane Austen lover in me appreciates a story about coming out parties and balls and a mother anxious for her daughter to get married (in a classy way, not in a Mrs. Bennet way) and a daughter who wants more than just to be someone's wife.
