Okay: I was born to missionary parents in a small third world landlocked jungle country. so I can relate, and maybe that biases me a little bit. This book captures the insanity of proselytizing fundamentalist christianity gone incredibly wrong. And at the same time, delivers a whole cast of unforgettable characters with riveting voices. I loved it. One of my all time favorites.

Very nice book. The plot's gripping.
