Ok, less bugs in this one then the first...I liked the first better. I think the author just got away from what he does best in this one. It had a "Hollywood" ending to this one. I didn't mind how it ended, but....well, this isn't a Hollywood type of book. I love how we met some of the bugman's long time friends. It showed other sides to him. Sides that I have been wondering about. Again, I didn't care how the author dealt with them...lol....hasn't the *bugster* (my personal nickname for my love, the bugman)been though enough? What I love most is the how Tim Downs portrays Bugster. I can see the image clearly of him twirling though a field with his bug net. One moment looking like a child caught in a game that entails pure joy, the next as a Samara sword fighter that entails stealth and complete concentration. I can see his eyes darting back and forth in the rapid movement behind the huge glasses. I can see the pain that he must have went though growing up with them. Even the bigotry he faces as an adult. I can see the depth behind them. I can see the wariness behind his snide remarks....ok, enough already...off to start the third in the series......
LOVED it. I expected it to be good, but I did not expect it to be a page-turner. It was gripping. The character development was as good as the mystery. I really hope the movie does it justice.
