Fictionalized reimagining of JonBenet Ramsey case as told by the 'older brother,' who is nearly a peripheral character in his own life. Much more pointed satire of suburban life than Bret Easton Ellis' Lunar Park. Very dark. Overlong and rambling in places. Too many footnotes. Also not sure whether there really should have been a reveal at the end. But mostly, interesting in a grimly fascinating way. Everyone in this book is very flawed, and kind of frightening, but somehow real. I would not re-read this, but I did enjoy reading it. I do not think I would want young children read this book due to the subject matter, and I would not recommend it to someone in a deeply depressed state of mind.
