Self-indulgent, insipid crap. That's really all I have to say about it, I could probably rant about how awful this book is and the series in general for ages but everything has already been said about that somewhere on the internet, I'm sure. A couple of points though: It takes five hundred pages to get to the action, five hundred pages. That's just bullshit. Then, as usual, the action doesn't actually happen at all, it's a lot of build up for a pointless, boring talky scene. Honestly Bella is more annoying as a vampire than she ever was as a human, she's suddenly, instantly perfect and everyone gasps at how beautiful she is (I'm not even exaggerating), she even bypasses the rules for newborn vampires that Meyer sets up in her earlier books and the reason given? Well, there isn't one, save from speculation that she's just that perfect. Essentially you know what the end of this book is going to be before you start reading it, Bella will live happily ever after, the rest is just padding and nonsense, there's never a real sense of danger, there is very little action and Bella continues to be a complete moron (who spends at least twenty pages at the start of the novel trying to convince Edward to sleep with her, gag). If you haven't read any of the Twilight books then don't, save your sanity. I only read them out of morbid curiosity in the beginning and I finished them out of nothing more than sheer spite and to confirm that yes, these are the worst books I have read in my life.
This book started out strong and I thought I would really like it, but several chapters into it, I lost interest in the plot.
