So glad I stuck with this book because it is such a unique "romance" novel. It was difficult for me to get into... Marquez's writing meanders through the story, often pausing the storyline for elaborate descriptions. They are vividly written but too frequent for my taste. The story itself is amazing as it takes the reader through 50+ years of unrequited love, and seems to evoke every human emotion along the way. I say give it chance and stick with it. It is worth it for the ending.
