** spoiler alert ** I read and LOVED The Bronze Horseman so I had high hopes for Tully, my 2nd Paullina Simons book. I gave it a rating of 4 stars, and I enjoyed it, but I did not LOVE it. I gave it 4 stars because it IS a good book and I did enjoy it - her writing is really great at times and she has a knack for creating characters that you just become attached to, despite not liking them very much. I think I find the story a bit unbelievable. Certain things just didn't jive - like how Hedda died - another reviewer made the same point I was thinking "Who would leave an invalid woman alone in the bathtub?" And when Tully was giving birth to Jennifer and Jack figured out what was wrong w/ her and not her doctor? Doesn't add up. Also, I can't imagine ANY man staying with ANY woman who treated him the way Tully treated him. It's just not possible. :( So I liked it, but didn't love it.
I read very slowly. Life is windy.
